Hi, I’m Matthew and this is a website with a bunch of words typed by me that I hope you find interesting or at least amusing.

I’m most energized when writing Rust and exploring SIMD, file formats, and databases. All of my programming is on github.com/friendlymatthew.

I currently live in New York City and work at Pydantic as a software engineer building an OLAP database.

When I’m not programming, I love spending time with my friends and training jiu jitsu. I also really love Norm Macdonald.

I went to Wesleyan until 2023, but would consider myself self taught (not by choice!).
